To help voters find information about Victoria’s candidates and make informed choices in the 2014 Municipal Election, the City of Victoria has created tools aimed at making information on the election more easily accessible. For the first time, the City has produced an online Candidate Profile Guide. The guide is available to view at www.victoria.ca/election. All candidates for Mayor and Council were given the opportunity to submit a brief candidate profile and photograph to let voters know more about themselves and their platforms. Eight candidates are running to fill the Mayor’s office, and 24 candidates are running to fill eight

The City has also refreshed the free Victoria Votes iPhone app for this year’s election. The app provides on-the-go information about where to vote, important dates, voting places, candidate names linking directly to candidate profiles online, and more. The Victoria Votes app is available now in the iTunes store.

An election edition of the Connect newsletter is being mailed to Victoria residents at the end of October. The newsletter is designed as an additional resource for voters who are looking for more information about the election, including accessible options for voting, who is eligible to vote, and why you should bring your future voters with you to the polls.
